Layton, Lindsey, and Some Other News

While my daily office work is apparently everything I'm still living for at the moment, my blog seems to suffer and doesn't like it. I have so much work to do right now that I somehow can't really motivate myself for any useful activities after work.

But alas, there are a few things I wanted to write about after my two-week pause!

  • I'm currently playing the new Professor Layton and the Last Specter in my spare time, which is a prequel and has quite a nice story. I like the setting a lot, but did they have to put so many math puzzles in there? Guess they wanted to stretch the average playing time, heh!
  • Then I saw this video yesterday and was so touched by it. 26-year-old Lindsey Miller from Los Angeles asking 50/50 star Joseph Gordon-Levitt out on a date after she saw the movie – so sweet. Let's all hope Joe accepts her coffee offer soon, because she really seems to deserve something nice and he doesn't seem to be an ass. Lindsey also blogs about her life with cancer over here, and it's an interesting, inspiring and lovely read. Her video and story quickly spread around the net and even NBC already went to interview her. Stay strong Lindsey and all the best, you rock!
  • IAmTheRain finally released the second full album "Disastre Digital" last Friday and it's a really cool album. You can listen to it via Bandcamp or just download the whole package for free. And I recommend you to do so! A few songs on the tracklist I posted for a while were replaced last-minute and I welcome the changes very much, because the album feels way more balanced now than with the earlier tracklist. Give it a try!
  • And a few words on the developing seasons of the shows I'm watching: Dexter grows into quite a cool season, although the latest episode "Nebraska" was probably the weakest so far and felt like a thousand wasted opportunities. House somewhat stumbles around without a clear goal ahead and I don't know where this season is going, but it's not overly entertaining so far. Odette Annable is awesomely hot, the episode plots are not. Person of Interest has already become a passion of mine and I love it more with every new episode. Great series, great acting, great stories. Keep it coming! Supernatural is not awful yet, but it's just rehashing and rehashing its former glory. I wish they had at least some plots featuring something else than the Winchesters worrying about each other every goddamn second. Fringe continues to be interesting and I like it a lot, but they should bring back the characters we knew. The "let's remove Peter from the timeline" plot apparently wasn't their greatest idea.

Enough for now, but I expect to find a little more time for my blog over the next weeks.
