L'Arc~en~Ciel Cast & Pay Their MSG Audience

L'Arc~en~Ciel are the first Japanese band to appear live in New York's famous Madison Square Garden this Saturday and you might even get paid to see them live.

No jokes: Gotham Casting is really looking for paid audience and I can only guess it's either because the band didn't sell as much tickets as they expected or because they want only beautiful people to fill the front rows for their recorded live material, which will be sold on DVD later.

So it's up to you, New Yorkers: If you want to spend 4-5 hours of your Saturday panting in front of Hyde, you'll get a whopping $50. Oh, and your friends too, by the way, if you bring some along. Not sure if you still have to buy the ticket, though.

Too funny. I've never seen another band casting audience for their momumental show at MSG before, and if I were a long-time fan of the guys I'd be really pissed to see all those paid people in front of me faking some love for the little crooner. Not sure if good move or just stupid, L'Arc!

Thanks \o/!

hi, I'm one of the fans in Japan.
This marketing works because they dont leak out these kind of information
To say the truth, I found this a little shocking. haha
I dont know what they are up to, but if this is best for their career,
I guess fans will support them.

Actually, it's nothing surprising either. X Japan hired a lot of "fans" for their PV shooting in Los Angeles a few years ago, which already turned off the fans who wanted to be there without getting paid. And for a video shoot, I can somewhat understand the decision to cast people, but for a live DVD it just seems cheap. It's like "our regular fans aren't good enough for the stuff we want to sell, so go and get some cute people in the front row!"

I would love to know how many tickets for Saturday appeared on eBay today ;D

L'Arc~en~Ciel is one of the greatest band I have even seen. It is not only famous in Japan, but also well recognized in Asia and Europe. It's so sad that the American people do not understand to appreciate their fabulous performance. But I don't believe they will pay the fake fans to attend live just for decorating in their DVD. Even if if some people are hired by someone for showing at the front rows, I can bet by my life that it is not the thought of the band member. The members of L'Arc~en~Ciel are real musicians and they love their music and perform it by their hearts!

Many fans are wondering about the advertisement from the casting company regarding the DVD shoot of L’Arc-en-Ciel’s MSG show this Sunday.
Management is not involved in this. The company is not giving away front row tickets to the show, and this has nothing to do with your purchased ticketsIf you already bought tickets, don't worry and enjoy the show. We’re looking forward to seeing you.

^_^ I was one of the people who got paid to see the concert. It was just because they didnt sell enough. Most of the people who were part of the Gotham Casting line weren't "beautiful" as you put it.

Wait? Is that why there were so many Asians/Cosplaying fans up front? I thought they paid extra to seat so close to the band.....I didn't think it was the other way around. Anybody else feel ripped?

No, those were most likely the hardcore Japanese fans that flew from Japan. The hardcore fans that follow them everywhere tend to dress up for them. There were many of them at the Hawaii show, many wore beautiful kimono for the LE-CIEL concert.
